Striving for reliable connections and fewer delays
Rail transport will play an increasingly important role with respect to mobility in a country as densely populated as the Netherlands. It is therefore expected that positive developments in rail-based infrastructure, such as light-rail and heavy-rail, will continue ever stronger. After all, railways connect large cities perfectly to one another…
But, before people will view rail transport as an appropriate and adequate alternative to the car, a number of improvements are required. First of all connections (by public transport) from and to stations must become better and faster. Punctual operation of trains, however, is also a prerequisite for enticing masses of people to use the train.
Working towards better quality and reliability
Maintenance backlogs on the intensively used railway network in our country are the cause of many train delays. Oranjewoud intends to contribute to improved track maintenance and a resulting decrease in delays for train passengers in a European Economic Co-operation Alliance between ProRail, APcon and Spiekermann.
