New rules for hazardous materials
Safety regulations for companies that work frequently with dangerous materials are in the process of being updated. Companies will soon be required to prepare a so-called Supplementary Risk Inventorization and Evaluation (ARIE). Stock is taken in this document of the manner in which the risk of serious accident is kept as small as possible. This will replace the obsolete Work Safety Report.
It is included in the decree 'Replacement of Work Safety Report', which has been passed by the cabinet in the meantime. Oranjewoud and Save have jointly approached a number of different companies in order to get a sense of client demand in this area and this has since resulted in a great deal of interest and tangible assignments. The Supplementary Risk Inventorization and Evaluation (ARIE) will be part of the decree on Work Conditions this year.
Specific know-how
This means that the ARIE will also have legal status as risk inventorization and evaluation. Practically speaking this implies that ARIE will have to be tested by a certified Working Conditions organization. Specific know-how is required in order to assess the risks, particularly in the areas of storage of dangerous materials, process safety and safety management. Most Working Conditions organizations, however, do not possess this know-how in-house…
Great combination!
Save, which has been part of Oranjewoud since the beginning of 2003, was one of the architects of this new legislative and regulatory framework in this area and inter alia created a methodology for assessing an ARIE.
The knowledge and experience that Oranjewoud has gained in the past with respect to handling and storage of dangerous materials means that the Save-Oranjewoud combination constitutes an ideal partnership to help in preparing an ARIE. Moreover, the end product will always meet the requirements of the relevant legislation and regulations by dint of close co-operation with certified Working Conditions organizations.
