Concrete answers, feasible solutions
Whether it concerns the development of residential areas, replacement of public art or laying of infrastructure; technical planning for the (re)design of public space requires plenty of innovative and up-to-date knowledge. From initial sketch to executive plan; governments, project developers and contractors turn to our specialists to support their planning work.
Technical elaboration includes drawing up plans, specs and estimates. But the legal and procedural side of things is also important. Apart from that, tender procedures, permit-related issues and risk management are also playing an increasingly important role in this area. From urban planners to architects, from consultants to process managers; we anticipate your needs, give concrete answers, and present feasible solutions.

A specialist for every field of expertise
Engineering is a wide-ranging field. Spatial planning projects require different know-how than making an artwork or an innovative tender does. Oranjewoud therefore distinguishes three areas of expertise: space, objects and contracts. We have specialists in each of these areas, who are up to speed on the latest developments, procedures and who the major players in this area are.

Technical and regional expertise
Localised expertise plays a crucial role in spatial planning projects. Our experts link technical expertise to local knowledge of the area where the project is situated. Based on this information, designers and technicians are able to convert a rough plan into a final design, which we can present as a 3D design, if required. We can also stage on-site information sessions for interest groups to outline the plans.

Current legislation and regulations
Planners in the Netherlands have to meet numerous design standards, and on top of that, legislation and regulations for spatial developments and constructions are highly complicated and detailed. Oranjewoud specialises in incorporating these preconditions into plans. Our designs meet all requirements set by permit regulations. Permit processes are therefore completed smoothly and efficiently.

Innovative tenders
Oranjewoud can provide governments and project developers with valuable assistance in tender processes. We will anticipate all ramifications of possible tender strategies in order to pick the right one, and draw up a customised execution contract. Alongside the RAW system (Regulations for Civil Engineering), so-called UAV-Gc contracts (Uniform Administrative Conditions for Integrated Contracts) increasingly form the basis for realisation. Wherever required, we will incorporate the subjects ‘Design & build’, ‘Design & construct’, ‘Build & Maintain’ into the basic agreement.

Realisation support
Oranjewoud’s approach is still very much hands-on. This means we take on managing and supervisory roles during the realisation phase. Our hands-on approach stands out through our unrivalled management of execution risks, and our eye for the technical feasibility of a project.
